There’s Nothing Good About Sick Kids…

…well, almost nothing.

(Unfortunately, no, these were not taken at the same time. Still…)

But what about me? What’s the upside to when I’m sick? Well, I’ve discovered that I tend to learn new skills of Brennan’s that I didn’t know he was capable of. Like when I was pregnant with Asher and Brennan had just turned 2, I learned he could reach the snack foods on his own. (It was a good thing, and he always asked permission first).

Yesterday, I jokingly asked Brennan to make me some lunch. He asked what I wanted and I responded, “A peanut-butter and jelly sandwich.” Brennan answered “o.k.” and headed off to the kitchen. About 15 minutes later, he presented me with my sandwich. I love having an (almost) 5 year old!!!

Hmmm. The other good thing about the kids being sick is that I don't feel guilty plopping them down on the couch to watch a movie.

Let's just say there's good sick and bad sick. Good sick is like a vacation, only you have to stay home, but you get to eat whatever you want and watch movies.

Bad sick involves cleaning up disgusting messes, whining, and trips to the doctor.

I hope you have good sick.

I actually enjoy the good sick days for AJ right now, but that's probably because I'm about ready to pop and all I want to do is lay around and watch movies or read. Am I awful? Anyway, that was very sweet of Brennan to make you a sandwich! :)
