Change is in the air...

37 weeks tomorrow, and apparently 2 cm dilated. It sounds good, but I've done this before... I'll also be 2 cm dilated at my 38, 39, and 40 week checks. Right up until I go into labor I suppose. Still, it's exciting and crazy to think about having just a few short weeks left. 3 weeks is nothing compared to the months and years ahead that will be forever changed.

The boys are doing well. Brennan went back to school today after a fun Spring Break in Fort Bragg. He had such a great time there, and Logan was such a good sport to entertain Brennan from sun-up 'til sun-down, even though he's 2 years Brennan's senior and I think Brennan got annoying at times. Logan, you're the best! Asher was also well entertained and I got a break from my kids like I don't think I've ever had before. They played upstairs and I lounged downstairs and it was simply magical!

Brian put in his 2 weeks notice at McGraths and he's finally moving on. As a temporary "college-job" it's been a huge blessing. But, it was never meant to be quite so long-term. Brian is done with school now, and his Corvallis Technical job is about to get a lot busier. Also, losing the 2nd income will be just the thing to light the fire to get Brian going on his Java certification which has been difficult to find the time for. Theoretically, once he's got that certificate, Brian will be where he needs to be to look at careers. So, it's all very exciting. Hopefully with much frugality, we won't have to rely on our tax returns/savings too much. Wish us luck!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2011

004

Leprechauns only pass through some houses on their way to hide their gold at the end of the rainbow, but for some reason they've hit us twice in a row. Those Leprechauns are just SO tricky, and they really out-did themselves this year it seems. At least they dropped some gold coins behind to make up for things :-)

The kids also noticed green water in the toilets, green milk, and somehow their oatmeal even ended up green... don't ask me how those tiny tricksters managed that one!

007 008

Today will be spent preparing some green foods to enjoy for dinner to finish up our celebrations. Whew!

*Special thanks so a certain Leprechaun who I heard worked 16 hours straight yesterday before starting his tricky business at our house late last night*

Why We Have Little Boys (and keep 'em)

I had Stake Women's Conference last Saturday and when I got home, Brian was doing a whole bunch of honey-do stuff, and had moved the small couch into the middle of the room temporarily... made for a fun thing for the boys to run around. Also, a buffet table intended for my sister's house is hanging around our living room and you'll notice Brennan (and then Asher) using it as a phone booth. How cool is that?

I love when the boys play together, and it's particularly fun to watch Brennan teach Asher how to play it "right", (i.e. the way Brennan wants it to be). Asher is very on board when it comes to Star Wars play.

Brennan’s Kindergarten (& 1st grade) Music Concert

Asher and I had a great time watching Brennan perform at the concert. His teacher commented to me afterwards, laughingly, about how Brennan makes some great facial expressions. This kid of ours is a nut. I’d like to say he’s just a clown, but really what it comes down to is being VERY easily distracted and totally oblivious. I hope he’ll grow out of some of that. If he’s going to be goofy, I’d rather it was on purpose. :-)

Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures. These indoor shots at this distance were just impossible to get, at least with my limited knowledge of photography.
